Directed by Ejaz Khan, Before They Vanish tells the true story of Frank Kuntz, a Vietnam veteran fighting to save his herd of endangered Nakota horses. Shot in the dusty plains of North Dakota over a one-year period, this labor of love captures the raw beauty of the Nakota herd and the landscape they call home. Serving as the film’s colorist, I worked closely with Ejaz to craft a subtle, naturalistic look while also mitigating the challenges of shooting in an ever-changing environment.
